Iran keen to recruit Bangladeshi workers
Says foreign adviser

Iran is keen to recruit workers from Bangladesh, as they are currently 'analysing' potentials here for un-skilled, semi-skilled and professional 'manpower', said Foreign Affairs Adviser Iftekhar A Chowdhury yesterday.

Iftekhar revealed this information after receiving Iranian Ambassador Hassan Farazandeh at his office, where Farazandeh handed over a letter from Irianian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki who expressed the hope for improving bilateral relations.

"Iran is currently analysing our manpower potentials, and the ambassador has told me he is already in communication with Tehran about the possibilities of import from Bangladesh of all categories of manpower - un-skilled, semi-skilled and professionals," said Iftekhar.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting Farazandeh said, "Iran is interested in manpower from Bangladesh," in addition to cooperation in communications, banking and energy sectors.

The meeting was a follow up on the decisions taken at the Joint Economic Commission held in Tehran in June last year.
