The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against detained former communications minister Nazmul Huda and his wife Sigma Huda for mismatch between their wealth and the wealth statement they had submitted earlier.ACC Assistant Director Talebur Rahman filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station, stating that Nazmul Huda and Sigma Huda did not mention wealth worth over Tk 2.19 crore in the wealth statement they submitted to the ACC. Meanwhile, former state minister for LGRD and cooperatives Ziaul Haq Zia was also sued yesterday for providing false information to Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) for getting government flat and plot in the city. CID Inspector Monir Hossain filed the case under section 420 with Motijheel Police Station yesterday afternoon. In the first information report (FIR), the plaintiff said Zia applied to Rajuk for a flat in Gulshan in 1998, swearing in an affidavit that he does not own any plot or flat in areas under Rajuk. Following the application the Rajuk allocated to him a flat in Gulshan. In December 2001, Zia applied to Rajuk again for a plot in Banani instead of the Gulshan flat. The FIR said Zia was given a five-katha plot in Banani in December 2003 and he built a six-storey building there. Task forces later found that Zia got a plot on Razia Sultana Road in Mohammadpur in 1986. He also got a piece of land allocated in his mother's name in 1997 through land mutation, the FIR added.
