Army tree plantation campaign begins
Bangladesh Army has undertaken a massive programme to make the National Tree Plantation Campaign-2007 a success, says an ISPR release.

Quarter Master General of Bangladesh Army Lt General Md Jahangir Alam Choudhury inaugurated the tree plantation campaign by planting an Amropali sapling beside the Army Central Mosque yesterday.

Senior Army officers were present on the occasion.

The Bangladesh Army has taken a massive programme of planting saplings in army establishments throughout the country. In addition, as part of government initiative of making the capital a green city, Army will plant 34,254 saplings of fruit, timber and medicinal species under its special tree plantation drive in its outfits in the city.

Bangladesh Army, one of the pioneers in National Tree Plantation Campaign, has been planting, nursing and conserving the saplings successfully.
