BSF guns down Bangladeshi in Joypurhat

A Bangladeshi was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) of India in Hatkhola border under Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district Monday night, BDR sources said.BSF also opened fired at two border points in Thakurgaon Monday night. The victim was identified as Shahidul Haque, 22, son of Abbas Mondal Ali of Nandail village of the upazila. Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) sources said, a BSF patrol team of Mathurapur camp suddenly fired three gunshots at him at a place near a border pillar opposite to Hatkhola outpost of BDR, while he was returning home from the frontier area. Shahidul died on the spot and the BSF troops took away his body. BDR lodged a strong protest against the killing of Shahidul and asked BSF for an urgent Company Commander level flag meeting between the two sides on the issue. But BSF side is yet to give any reply so far, the sources said.
