Gold ornaments worth Tk 5.5 lakh looted in Ctg

Robbers looted valuables, including gold ornaments worth over Tk 5 lakh and shot three people at Hathazari in the district early hours of yesterday.Sources said a gang of 15 robbers entered the house of one Md Nasiruddin, a Bangladeshi expatriate in the Middle East, at Rahimpur Jafarbad at around 1:30am after breaking the lock of the collapsible gate. The robbers looted valuables, including cash and 10 tolas of gold ornaments worth Tk 5.5 lakh holding the inmates of the house at gunpoint. When they tried to make away with the booty, family members of the house started screaming. As some of the villagers rushed to the spot, robbers opened fire that saw three people receiving bullets. The injured Ismail, 22, Ershad, 18 and Ayub, 25 were admitted at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
