BIHR condemns killing of Anjan
Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) has expressed deep shock at the killing of Tanvir Hasan Anjan, 22, the youngest son of late Saiful Alam Mukul, former editor of Daily Runner, a local newspaper of Jessore, says a press release. In a statement, BIHR President Justice KM Sobhan and Executive Director Advocate Najmul Haq Shah Chowdhury condemned the killing and expressed concern over the safety of Mukul's family. They said members of Mukul's family have been targeted by a vested quarter because of the active role of the Daily Runner in the democratic movement of the country. The BIHR leaders called on the authorities concerned to identify the real criminals and give them exemplary punishment. They also called for ensuring safety and financial compensation for Anjan's family.
