Shoes worth Tk 9 lakh gutted

Shoes worth Tk 9 lakh were gutted in a fire at a godown of Bata Shoe Company at city's North Nalapara yesterday afternoon.Fire brigade sources said the fire was sparked by an electrical short circuit at around 1.30pm and soon engulfed the godown. Four fire fighting units from city's different fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire after a two-hour effort. The damages were estimated at Tk 9 lakh, said the sources.
