Zillur criticises Mainul for his comments on Hasina, Khaleda

Awami League (AL) presidium member Zillur Rahman yesterday protested Law Adviser Mainul Hosein's remarks terming Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia 'failed leaders' and his call to the people to boycott the two leaders.

"His (Mainul) unguarded remarks proved that he is not a representative of a neutral government," Zillur said in a press statement.

The adviser reportedly made the remarks during an interview with a private TV channel on Monday.

Zillur said, "Mainul Hosein has forgotten that he is an adviser of a nonpartisan and non-political caretaker government. His remarks proved that the incumbent caretaker government is not nonpartisan."

The AL leader said Mainul has no moral right to remain as an adviser, as he breached his oath through his biased acts and the caretaker government will have to bear the responsibility of his statement.

Zillur urged the caretaker government to lift the ban on indoor politics.
