Dr Madhabi new DG of AERE
Dr Madhabi Islam, chief scientific officer of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), has been appointed director general (DG) of Atomic Energy Research Establishment (AERE) recently, says a press release. She is the first female DG since the inception of AERE in 1978. She joined BAEC in 1982 and served the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) in different capacities. Dr Madhabi graduated from Presidency College, Kolkata, did her MSc and PhD from Kolkata University, post-doctoral trainings from Moscow State University, USSR, Oxford University, UK and Abdus Salam International Central for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. Dr Madhabi is also a senate member of Jahangirnagar University.
