Clarification
The foreign ministry, in a clarification of reports published in newspapers yesterday regarding Dhaka's decision not to export Hilsa to Delhi, claimed that Acting Foreign Secretary Touhid Hossain said, "Dhaka will review the situation in the changing context" rather than saying, "...will reconsider the decision" itself. In the clarification the ministry also said the decision and its reconsideration is a matter for the commerce ministry and not the foreign ministry. The foreign ministry also stated that export of Hilsa to a number of countries other than India has been banned for six months.
