The physical condition of ailing noted singer Sabina Yasmin improved some more yesterday.Her body temperature was under control and she was having food, but she was not given chemotherapy yesterday as the problems in her liver still persist, physicians said. Physicians treating her are not yet sure whether it will be possible to cure her fully. Under the circumstance the family members of the singer are preparing to take her to Singapore for further treatment. Cancer and medicine expert Lt Col (retd) Mofazzel Hossain, who is the physician of Sabina in Labaid Specialised Hospital in the capital, told journalists yesterday that she is now at an advanced stage of cancer. He also said Singapore Cancer Hospital has been contacted to arrange her treatment there and the matter is under process. Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed and Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed visited Sabina Yasmin yesterday in the hospital, reported UNB. The CA inquired about the condition of Sabina from the physician and asked the hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment for her. The CA talked to the singer and wished her an early recovery. Her family members appealed to the chief adviser for government cooperation in quick shifting of Sabina to Singapore for better treatment, Dr Mofazzel Hossain told reporters. The head of the caretaker government assured them of extending all possible cooperation, he added. Gen Moeen U Ahmed also visited Sabina Yasmin yesterday in the hospital. The army chief stayed beside the ailing singer for some time, talked to her and wished her an early recovery.
