Edn officer held for bribery

Joint forces yesterday arrested Satkhira district secondary education officer and his driver from district secondary education office at Katia in the town on charge of bribery. The joint forces during search also recovered Tk 25,000 and Tk 900 from the drawer of the table of the official and the driver's possession respectively which they allegedly took as bribe, law enforcers said. The arrestees are district secondary education officer Md. Kamruzzaman and driver Wakil Ahmed. Police said, acting on a tip-off, joint forces cordoned the office and searched the office for about an hour from 11-30 am. Police said, the education officer took Tk 25,000 from teachers and staff of different schools.
