Concert to help save life at Rangamati


Popular band LRB and three other Chittagong based bands Nexus, Wills and Sherch-4, performed at Rajbari Stadium, Rangamati, recently. The concert was held as a fund raiser for treatment for Mollika Marma, a student of Forestry Department of the Chittagong University, who is suffering from kidney ailment.

At first Nexus, Wills and Sherch-4 performed popular songs. The crowd then began to dance and sing when Ayub Bachchu of LRB started singing Rater tarar moto. He also presented seven other popular songs of the band such as Ghum bhanga shohore, Meye and Shei Tumi.

Police Super Md. Abdul Baten was the chief guest while convener of Mollika Chikitsa Tahabil and concert organising committee Aungsusain Chowdhury was the chairperson. Rotarian district BCL (Bangladesh Chhatra League) president Akbar Hossain and Abusadat Mohammed Saiem also spoke at opening session.

The physicians have advised that she has to be sent abroad for better treatment and Tk 14 lakhs are needed for the transplant of her kidneys, Tahabil committee sources said.

Around five to seven thousand people had gathered at the stadium for the concert.
