Laxman, Dipu off to fine starts

Laxman Lal and Dipu Lal won their respective first round matches in the Dhaka Open Tennis competition at the Ramna Tennis Complex yesterday.On the third day of competition, American Club's Laxman beat Zakir Hossain of Uttara Club 7-5, 6-4 while Dipu Lal of Nordic Club trounced Mazharul Islam of NTC 7-5, 6-2. In the boys' under-16 singles event, Mofazzel Hossain thumped Rezwanul Haq 6-0, 6-0 while Biplob, Sajjad, Delwar, Rahim, Tanvir, Junaid, Nabil, Nuruzzaman and Hasibul won their respective matches in the under-13 competition of the tournament.
