Laurence Fishburne to adapt "The Alchemist" for big screen
He filled his role in The Matrix with deep spiritual pronouncements, and now Laurence Fishburne is planning a whole movie's worth of philosophical enlightenment. The actor has nabbed the rights to Paulo Coelho's best-selling novel The Alchemist, and will write, direct and produce the movie version. Obviously he's a big fan.

Coelho's book, an enormously popular blend of spiritualism, folklore and adventure, follows the journey of an Andalucian shepherd who is obsessed with finding treasure in the ancient pyramids. It's all about following one's dreams, a theme that is quite popular in Hollywood.
