Indian clothes worth Tk 17 lakh seized

The members of BDR seized a truck loaded with Indian clothes worth about Tk 17 lakh at Vimpur in Panchbibi on Thursday.Acting on a tip-off, the BDR men intercepted the Dhaka-bound truck on Hili-Joypurhat road and seized 579 pieces of sari and 378 pieces of salwar kameez, which were smuggled from India, BDR sources said. Sensing the presence of BDR, the smugglers fled away leaving behind the truck.
