89 bags of 'relief flour' recovered

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered 89 bags of flour, which were allocated for relief, from the residence of a Union Parishad (UP) member at Ranipukur in Mithapukur of the district yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off, Rab members raided the house of Ranipukur Union Parishad (UP) member Golam Rasul at about 10:00am and recovered the flour, said Rab sources.

World Food Programme supplied the flour to Ranipukur UP as relief for the destitute women, the sources added.

Sensing Rab presence, Golam Rasul fled the scene.
