GP, Brac Varsity support for Liberation War Museum

Brac University and Grameenphone yesterday donated the proceeds from the ticket sales of 'Pahela Baishakh Festival' to Liberation War Museum.

The festival was jointly organised by Brac University and Grameenphone back in April.

Museum Trustee Mofidul Haque received a cheque for Tk 4 lakh at a ceremony on behalf of the museum authorities on its premises in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Mofidul Haque said the Liberation War Museum is no longer a private museum; rather it's a people's museum now.

He appreciated the initiative of the students of Brac University and hoped that the new generation will implement the spirit of the liberation war to help preserve its history.

Director of New Business Division at Grameenphone Kafil HS Muyeed said the Liberation War Museum is playing a significant role by not only preserving the history of the War but also presenting the history of the Liberation War before the new generation.

He urged other corporate houses to extend their helping hands for the development of the country in different ways.

Brac University Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Jamilur Reza Chowdhury and university Pro-VC and Chairperson Dr Salehuddin Ahmed spoke on the occasion.
