As NRBs we appreciate this initiative to have an aggressive reform of our manpower sector to reduce the sufferings of the people, those who are selling their valuable assets to work abroad. These people are sending their hard earned money and therefore the reserve of foreign currency in Bangladesh Bank is piling up. The government is paying off foreign debts and paying the import bills with that foreign currency. In return, these foreign currency remitters deserve something back from the government. These are not new issues. I don't blame only the recruiting agencies. There are immigration officials and others working within this chain and everybody gets a share of the pie. How are the camel jockeys going abroad and getting killed? Glad to know that a country is paying compensation for the dead or injured camel jockeys. There are thousands of stories in this sector. Time has come for the government to take some tough measures in this respect.
