Death threat to RU officers' assoc leader

A leader of Rajshahi University (RU) Officers and Employees' Association yesterday received a death threat from the outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP). The PBCP threatened Amirul Islam, RU officer and general secretary of the association, over telephone to kill him if he does not pay Tk 50 thousand. Amirul told newsmen that he had filed a general diary (GD) with Motihar Police Station in this connection. He has also informed Registrar Prof Abdus Salam and Proctor Enamul Haque of the incident. Earlier, four teachers of the university received death threats form PBCP and filed separate GDs with Motihar police.
