Superintending engr of CCC held on graft charges

Joint forces yesterday held a superintending engineer of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) on various charges.

Sources said a team of joint forces arrested CCC Superintending Engineer (Electrical) Md Shahidullah while he was coming out of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office at around 7:30pm.

He was taken to the camp of joint forces in the city for interrogation.

Shahidullah was suspended from CCC a month ago after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Chittagong sued him on May 27 on charges of opening Bijoy TV, a private channel, illegally.

ACC Deputy Director Abu Md Arif Siddique filed the graft case with Kotwali Police Station accusing CCC Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and three other CCC officials, including Shahidullah.
