Unb, Ctg
Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has served notices on the owners of 965 multi-storied buildings to remove unauthorised parts of their establishments by next 30 days.Sources said the CDA served the notices on Thursday and warned stern legal action if the owners failed to remove unauthorised parts of their roadside buildings during the time limit. The CDA has identified those buildings beside Alongkar to port connecting road, Bahaddarhat to Kathghar road, Agrabad access road and Kalurghat to Bahaddarhat road. Sources said the authority has taken this initiative as traffic movement on those busy roads is being hampered due to unauthorised segments of those buildings. CDA Chief Engineer MA Halim said they have given one month's time to the owners so that hey can remove the unauthorised parts of their buildings on their own initiative.
