Chuadanga blast kills one

An alleged criminal was killed and another critically injured in a bomb explosion at Kalidaspur village in Alamdanga upazila yesterday.The dead was identified as Intaj Ali, son of Murad Ali of Akundabaria village in Sadar upazila. Police said Intaj died on the spot while Rakib Ahmed Bony suffered injuries as the bombs they were carrying exploded suddenly at noon. Bony's hands and legs were blown off in the blast. Bony, son of A Khalek of Majila village in Kushtia, confessed to police that they were taking the bombs and explosives to Kushtia to carry out subversive acts. Police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) kept the spot encircled until filing of the report at about 12.30pm.
