Security printing chief engineer suspended over graft charges

The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Ltd yesterday temporarily suspended Chief Engineer Anwar Hossain as he was arrested along with bribes on Tuesday.

General Manager (administration) of the corporation Majibar Rahman said Anwar was suspended according to service rules and the suspension order will remain in effect until the investigation is completed.

"Action will be taken against him on the basis of the investigation report," he added.

Meanwhile, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court sent Anwar Hossain to Dhaka Central Jail after Gulshan police produced him at the court.

The police also sent documents of the case against him to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for investigation.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) sources said that DGFI and ACC officials are collecting information about Anwar.
