Unidentified gunmen shot two youths dead in Malibagh in the capital yesterday while an employee of a dry cleaning shop was murdered in Dhanmondi. The two unidentified youths were shot in the back of their heads on Shahi Masjid Lane in Malibagh last night. Informed by locals, police around 10:15pm recovered the bodies of the youths aged about 24 and 28. The bodies were around 40 yards apart from each other. They sent the bodies to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:15pm for autopsy. "Both were killed on the spot. Locals are being questioned about the incident," Rezaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Motijheel Police Station, told The Daily Star last night. Meanwhile, a worker of a dry cleaning shop allegedly slit the throat of his co-worker in Dhanmondi in the capital. The victim Tota Miah, 13, an employee of Central Automatic Dry Cleaners on Central Road in Dhanmondi, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:00pm where doctors on duty declared him dead. Asad, a co-worker of Tota, told reporters that Tota was napping in a room inside the shop yesterday afternoon when Asad called him. He said Tota came out and told him Kader, a co-worker he shares the room with, beat him. He said he went to a different room for 20 minutes or so and when he returned he saw the grille door of Tota's room locked from the inside. Failing to get Tota's response to calls, Asad informed the owner of the shop about the matter and he entered the room with a spare key. They found Tota lying in a pool of blood and Kader lying on the bed. Asad and locals beat Kader up suspecting he killed Tota and handed him over to police. Kader, however, told locals during the beating that Saiful, the manager of the shop, killed Tota, beat him unconscious and fled framing him for the murder. Police were interrogating Kader.
