VIP status in jail

I read in one of the newspapers that the court had ordered the govt. to give VIP status to Tarique Rahman. But my question is, why should the govt. give him that status? What has he done for the country? Not only Tarique Rahman, I am also talking about the other so-called politicians. They have ruined the country. So what's the point of spending more money for them? Do they really deserve the VIP status in jail? I don't know what the readers have got to say about the issue.
