The youth was identified as Manjurul Hossain Moni, 17.

Sources said the accident occurred around 9:30am when Moni was crossing the railway track at the Cantonment Railway Station and was hit by a passenger train.

Family sources added that Moni left his house at Purana Paltan saying he was going to visit a relative's house at Dakkhin Khan.

Meanwhile, a 40-year old unidentified man was also killed as he was run over by a train in the same place on Sunday night.
