Ex-minister Zia owns Tk 11cr properties
Wealth report placed to ACC

Former state minister Ziaul Haque Zia, one of the 21 corruption suspects served with notices on May 29, submitted his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday.

In the statement, Zia claimed that he possesses wealth worth about Tk 11 crore in addition to nearly 5.5 bighas land.

Although the deadline to submit wealth statements within seven working days expired, eight of the summoned corruption suspects, including Ziaul Haque, applied for time extension.

As per the ACC Rules 2007, the commission gave them another seven working days to submit their wealth statements.

In his statement received by ACC Secretary Delwar Hossain through his representative, the former state minister stated that he and his three family members own a six-storied building in Banani worth Tk 1.57 crore, a filling station of Tk 1.62 crore and fixed deposits of Tk 2.25 crore.

Ziaul Haque stated that he has a loan of Tk 31 lakh.
