Injured mugger dies in hospital

A youth succumbed to his injuries yesterday at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) who was beaten by mob at Sutrapur in the city allegedly for mugging, police sources said.The victim was identified as Akter Hossain Mintu, 25, a carpenter of Rayerbagh, Shyampur. Police recovered injured Akter from Wari at Sutrapur and rushed him to DMCH at around 11:00pm on Sunday where he died at 7:00am yesterday. Mintu was mercilessly beaten by the mob, Sutrapur police said. Mintu's father Lalmia said a gang of muggers snatched money from his son and severely beat him while he was going to the residence of his father-in-law at Keraniganj from his residence at Shyampur.
