Rafique, Mashrafe back in town

Bangladesh vice-captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and ace left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique returned home yesterday after taking part in the Afro-Asia Cup in India.

Pace spearhead Mashrafe played two one-day internationals for Asia XI after the lone Twenty20 game but he had little success with one wicket and 14 runs.

But a seasoned Rafique showed his mettle by capturing two wickets in second game and finished with figures of 4-65 in the third and final match to help Asia XI complete a whitewash of Africa XI on Sunday.

Rafique scored only one run in two innings.

Both the players are expected to join the national camp today at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

They failed to arrive in Dhaka on schedule in the morning due to flight delay.
