Solo recital evening by Sangbrita

Cultural organisation Sangbrita arranged a solo recitation programme titled "Kobita Prohor" at Shawkat Osman Auditorium in Shahbag on June 8. The event was divided into two sessions -- recitation of selected poems and requests from the audience. Noted artist Mahidul Islam recited excerpts from works of eminent poets.The recitor started with "Kandte Ashini Phanshir Dabi Niye Eshechhi" by Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury and "Shadhinota, Ei Shobdoti Kibhab-e Amader Holo", "Shei Kotha Bola Holo Na" by Nirmalendu Goon and Daud Haider respectively. He also recited Rabindranath Tagore's "Hothat Dekha", Jibonananda Das' "Ami Jodi Hotam", Shahid Kadri's "Ke Jeno Bolchhe", Syed Shamsul Haque's "Nijeke Thik Tomar Jonno" and more. The first session ended with recitation of excerpts from Kazi Nazrul Islam's "Abhibhashon". Second part of the evening featured renditions of poems requested by the audience, including Sunil Gangapadhaya's "Keu Kotha Rakheni", Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah's "Batash-e Lasher Gondho", Rafiq Azad's "Protikkha", Syed Shamsul Haque's "Nuroldin-er Shara Jibon", Shamsur Rahman's "Tomake Paowar Jonno Hey Shadhinota" and more. Noted artiste Rabi Sankar Moitri was the anchor of this part. Prodip Kumar Sarkar and Uttam Chakrabarti played the background score in violin and flute respectively.
