Judge Abu Bakar Siddique also fixed Sunday for hearing as Minu's lawyers lodged a miscellaneous case with the court seeking his bail.

Minu's lawyers also submitted a petition for his ad interim bail till the bail hearing date, but the petition was rejected.

A metropolitan magistrate court sent Minu to jail on Wednesday following an extortion case against him and 10 others.

However, Minu's wife Salma Shahadat and his daughter Saifi met him at Rajshahi Central Jail yesterday.

Salma Shahadat told reporters that Minu was well in jail and taking his regular medicines as he was suffering from some diseases.
