Man killed by brother

A man was killed by his brother over a family feud at Pallabi in the city in the early hours of yesterday.

The victim was identified as Jalaluddin, 38, a chicken trader of Rupnagar Residential Area at Pallabi.

Sources said Jalaluddin was having a heated argument with his younger brother Nizamuddin on Wednesday at around 10:30pm which led to a fight between them.

Nizamuddin stabbed his elder brother with a boti while his wife Sufia Begum and daughter Nila Akhter started strangling Jalaluddin, alleged Jalaluddin's wife, Hasna Begum.

He was taken to a local clinic at around 12:15am in an unconscious state where the on duty doctors declared him death.

Hasna Begum filed a case with Pallabi Police Station accusing Nijamuddin, his wife Sufia Begum and daughter Nila.

Police was able to arrest Sufia and Nila after the incident.

Family sources said the wedding of Jalaluddin's daughter was fixed with a guy in the neighborhood recently but Nijamuddin and his wife spoke ill of Jalaluddin's daughter to the would be groom's family which angered Jalaluddin who finally confronted his brother about the matter on that fateful night.
