Car found in Barisal belonged to Falu


The luxurious abandoned car recovered from beside the Barisal-Dhaka highway in March is owned by Mosaddek Ali Falu, detained former BNP lawmaker and political secretary to Begum Khaleda Zia, police said here yesterday.

Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Uzirpur police station, said that informed by local people, police on March 8 recovered a luxurious Toyota Raum car worth Tk 40 lakh from beside the highway in abandoned condition without any number plate and documents. The car was locked.

Barisal Police sent messages to different offices of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) mentioning the car's chassis number and engine number.

On Monday (June 4), Sub-inspector Modhushudhan of Dhaka BRTA (southern zone) informed that the car was registered in the name of Mosaddek Ali Falu, son of Alhaj Abdul Mannan, of 797, South Shahjahanpur in Dhaka; telephone no. 8313707. The car's BRTA registration No. is Dhaka-metro-Ba-14-7222. Its chassis no. is EX-210-0028412 and engine no. is 5E-1105464.

We are now sure that the car belonged to Mosaddek Ali Falu, the OC said. "Now we will ask for information from BRTA about it purchase documents, taxation and licence", the OC said.
