Chittagong Mohammedan crashed to a 3-0 home defeat to Arambagh in the second leg of the B. League at the MA Aziz Stadium yesterday. The visitors dominated the show during their fifth win, shaped by a goal each from three foreign recruits. Arambagh, who had won the first leg match in Dhaka 2-0 with both goals coming from Nicodemus, went ahead when the Kenyan forward found the net after 14 minutes. It was the sixth league goal for Nicodemus, which gave the Dhaka outfit a 1-0 first half lead, doubled three minutes after the break by Kenyan defender Thomas Biketi. Ugandan midfielder Iddi Badambuze sealed the victory a minute later, raising Arambagh's tally to 16 points compared to second from bottom Chittagong Abahani's 10 after 12 games each. The second week of the second leg concludes today with a crucial Dhaka derby where Mohammedan and Muktijoddha vie for the top spot during their 12th league game. Level on 21 points, one point adrift of current leaders Abahani, Shafiqul Islam Manik's black and whites will seek revenge of their 1-0 first-leg loss to Muktijoddha. Mohammedan's six-match winning streak was snapped when they drew goalless with Sheikh Russel in the previous game but Abu Yusuf's Reds have seemingly recovered from a 2-1 defeat to Russel when they edged Chittagong Mohammedan 2-1 last week.
