Maritime ports asked to hoist cautionary signal No. 3

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three as squally weather under the influence of deep convection over the north Bay may affect them.All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have also been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, according to a warning message of the Met office yesterday. In the last 24 hours as of 6:00pm yesterday, the rainfall recorded in Dhaka was 34 millimetres, while Rajshahi received 59 millimetres of rainfall, the highest in the country, Met office said. The weatherman said that apart from rain or thundershower, accompanied by gusty or squally wind, moderately heavy rainfall may occur at some places across the country. The west monsoon has reached up to Chittagong coast, he added.
