The European Commission is satisfied with the way the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is handling the cases against corruption suspects, saying that they will follow the process closely."It (ACC) follows correct process...The ACC is doing it in correct way. Filing (of cases) is done... Some are in the courts, some are convicted and some will come. I think it is dealt in a very correct manner," EC Head of the Delegation Ambassador Stefan Frowein told reporters after meeting with ACC Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury at his office yesterday. "We are satisfied with that. We will follow it closely," he said. For the European Union, the question of anti-corruption is important, he said, adding it is interesting to see the ACC's plans for the future. Meanwhile, a six-member United Nations counter terrorism team, led by Sergey Karev, Director of UN Counter Terrorism Committee, met ACC Secretary Delwar Hossain. The team expressed keen interests in the commission's activities after January 11. ACC sources said the team wanted to know about the reconstituted Anti-Corruption Commission and the secretary apprised them of activities of the commission. The UN team was impressed by the post-January ACC activities.
