Mass Recruitment at RU
Memo to UGC chairman

A group of Rajshahi University (RU) teachers under the banner of Progressive Teachers Society (PTS) met the chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) on Sunday and demanded exemplary punishment of those who were involved in mass recruitment, corruption, irregularities, nepotism and violation of the University Act at RU during the BNP-Jamaat rule.In a statement signed by PTS RU Convener Prof Abdus Sobhan yesterday said they met UGC Chairman Prof Nazrul Islam at his Dhaka office and submitted a memorandum. They mentioned that the former RU administration recruited teachers, officials and employees during BNP-Jamaat government tenure under political consideration and in exchange of huge bribes. UGC chairmen received their allegation and assured the teachers that he will investigate the matter.
