Pushcart driver killed in road accident in Ctg

A pushcart driver was killed and his helper was injured in a road accident on city's Dewanhat Over Bridge yesterday afternoon. The victim was identified as Mohammad Kamal Hossain, 25, son of Mansur Ali of Bhola district while the injured was Jasim Uddin, 24, son of late Mohammad Hashem, of the same district. Sources said the accident occurred when a city service bus knocked the pushcart from behind on the bridge under Double-mooring Police Station at around 12.30pm. Kamal and Jasim received severe injuries and were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty doctors declared Kamal dead. Jasim was undergoing treatment at the hospital, said the sources. However, the driver of the bus managed to flee with the bus.
