Tax Evasion
Banks asked to freeze accounts of ex-NBR member, wife

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has asked all commercial banks to freeze bank accounts of one its former member and his wife on suspicion of tax evasion and corruption.

In a letter yesterday, the NBR directed all banks to freeze the accounts of former NBR member ATM Sarwar Hossain and his wife Nazma Sarwar.

Earlier, NBR collected information regarding Sarwar's bank accounts.

The former NBR member's name is already on the government's corruption list.
