27th BCS: We want justice, not favour

Due to allegations of corruption against the 27th BCS exam, a cloud seems to be hanging over the candidates selected for different cadres. Against this backdrop, I would like to request everyone concerned to consider the following points while dealing with this crucial issue. Firstly, the undeniable essence of justice is that the innocent must be protected in all circumstances and in no way be forced to bear the brunt of the unlawful acts perpetrated by the culprits. So any attempt to cancel the 27th BCS would be tantamount to the denial of the fundamental principle of justice. Secondly, those clamouring against the 27th BCS seem to be cocksure that all the selected candidates were involved in the alleged corruption. It appears that they are more interested in showing off their combative spirit rather than looking into the qualifications of all the candidates. It is highly regrettable that they fail to recognise that many of the successful candidates are honest, hard-working and meritorious with enviable academic backgrounds. Have these innocent ones toiled for years only to be caught in the vicious net laid by the evil-doers? Finally, one must see to it that the deserving candidates are not made scapegoats. We expect that the concerned authorities dispense justice, not favour by purging the 27th BCS of its corrupt elements, thus redeeming the prestige of the worthy candidates .

We heartily welcome reformation in the PSC, but hope it does not require the sacrifice of some virtuous job-getters.
