Storm kills 4 in city


A nor'wester killed four people including two children at different parts of the capital last night.

Selim, 5, and Korban, 4, were killed when the boundary wall of Sarkari Shishu Paribar office collapsed on their shanty in Tejgaon industrial area during the storm around 7:30pm, police sources said. They died on the spot.

Tasirul Islam, 60, a shop owner, was electrocuted when he went to save his family members after a electric cable, detached due to the gusty winds, at Kathalbagan electrified his house around 7:30pm. Ramjan Miah, 22, an employee of Tasirul's shop, tried to save his employer and also got electrocuted. Both of them died on the spot but Tasirul's family members escaped with out a scratch.
