BDR, BSF trade fire on Satkhira border


Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) traded heavy gunfire on Taluigachha border in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.

BSF personnel of Amudia Camp in Swarupnagar Police Station under 24 Parganas in West Bengal, India fired three gunshots towards BDR members of Taluigachha Camp in Sadar upazila at about 4-30 am. BDR retaliated by firing 21 gunshots.

After the incident, both the BDR and BSF reinforced strength on the border.

On contact, 41, Rifles Battalion Second-in-Command Major Abdul Momen Chowdhury confirmed the incident saying BSF fired gun shots aiming at BDR without provocation.
