Sports Reporter
Premier League leaders Abahani have asked Bangladesh Cricket Board to delay the ongoing super league matches after the India tour as they are finding it difficult to employ eleven players due to various problems. In the letter sent by the club high-ups to BCB president M Abdul Aziz, it was mentioned that three of their players -- Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Khaled Mashud and Tushar Imran-- are with the national side in Chittagong where they are involved in the first Test against India, three others are injured and ill while Suharwardi Shuvo is finding it difficult to play as he is appearing for the HSC examinations. The three injured players are batsman Jahurul Islam, Nazimuddin and Mohammad Shahjada, who is down with high fever. As a result, seven of their first team players are out of action for these crucial games of the super league, one of which they have already lost to Biman by seven wickets on Saturday. The Abahani authorities have also alleged, in the letter, that a certain club is being given the liberty of using players who were earlier banned, to field a full-strength side by lifting those bans. They however did not mention the name of the club. The league continues from May 21.
