18 killed in Indian bus plunge

At least 18 people were killed after a congested passenger bus plunged into a gorge in northeastern India, police said yesterday.Eleven passengers died instantly when the bus carrying around 50 people spun out of control and fell down the gorge on Friday near the Bangladesh border, a police spokesman said in Meghalaya state capital Shillong. Seven of 32 injured passengers brought to a hospital there died of their injuries yesterday, doctors said.
