Jalil for handing over voter registration job to army experts

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Abdul Jalil yesterday suggested handing over of the voter registration activities to army experts. When the army experts expressed their willingness to prepare the voter list within six months, the Election Commission's 18-month timetable will create 'confusion' and lead to wastage of time, he told the reporters at his office in the capital yesterday. If the people assist the army experts, the much awaited voter list can be prepared within six months, he said. The AL leader said they will hold the national council of the party as soon as the restrictions on political activities go. About the 14-party alliance, he said the coalition is still there but the position of the parties will be decided considering the changed circumstances.
