46 cars, bikes stolen in two months

A total of 46 cars and motorcycles were stolen in the last two months in the city while the law enforcing agencies have recovered 29 vehicles during this period. Of the recovered, Detective Branch (DB) of police recovered 25 cars and motorcycles while the rest four was recovered by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Masadur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of DB police, said with a view to resisting carjacking in the city, two special teams of DB led by him were formed on March 19. He said whenever a car is stolen, police stations forward details of the car to the teams who in turn start searching for the stolen vehicles. Since their formation, they have recovered eight motorbikes and 17 cars in the last two months, he added.
