Nazrul exponent Shahabuddin passes away

Shahabuddin Ahmed, an exponent of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early yesterday at the age of 71. He left behind his wife, two daughters, one son and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. Shahabuddin, also a journalist, litterateur and researcher, was the editor of magazines published by Islamic Foundation and Nazrul Academy and of the Daily Mujadded. He wrote over 20 books, 11 of which were on poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. His body was taken to Bangla Academy and National Press Club after namaz-e-Janaza after Zohr prayers. He was buried at Sahjahanpur graveyard.
