Death anniversary of journo Ayub observed

Speakers at a meeting held here yesterday recalled the fond memory of noted journalist and Dainik Ittefaque Khulna bureau chief Ayub Hossain. Organised by Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ), the meeting was held at Khulna bureau office of Dainik Ittefaque to mark the first death anniversary of Ayub Hossain. KUJ president Mamun Reza presided. Among others, Khulna Press Club president Makbul Hossain Mintu, Dainik Prothom Alo Khulna bureau chief Shaikh Abu Hasan, joint secretary general of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFJU) S M Zahid Hossain, KUJ secretary Anowarul Islam Kajol and Khulna Press Club secretary Mohammod Khwani addressed. The meeting was followed by a milad mahfil after Asar prayers. Quran Khwani, feeding of destitutes (Kangali Bhoj) and Doa Mahfil were held at the village home of the diseased at Bunagati of Shalikha upazila in Magura, family sources said. Ayub Hossain died of lung cancer at a clinic here on May 13 last year.
