Mortaz Ali of Atikura village in Fandauk union in the upazila filed the case with Nasirnagar police station Saturday afternoon, police said yesterday.

Nasirnagar upazila administration allocated nine tonnees of wheat under food for work programme to reconstruct a road at Atikura village.

While the work of the project was going on, a team of BNP leaders led by upazila BNP secretary Kamruzzaman Mamun demand Tk 20,000 as toll.

They force the contractor to stop the work till payment of the toll, Mortaz said in the complaint.

The case is being investigated, the OC of Nasirnagar thana said.
